The 2016-2017 school year began a few weeks ago, and now, I'm a senior. Geez. When did that happen? When did I become a 'grown-up'? All of that aside though, the start of school marked something else too. The start of my second year in Frisco ISD's Independent Study and Mentorship program! If you couldn't tell from the title, I'm starting afresh. I'm doing ISM a bit differently and I'm doing it in two ways.

  1. Last year, I studied the fascinating sub-specialty of Forensic Psychiatry. While I found the field very educational, I've decided to take a step back and look into psychiatry in a more generally. Before I become a Forensic Psychiatrist, I must first become a Psychiatrist. For this reason, I will be studying Clinical Psychiatry.

  2. Big news: This year I've vowed to read a myriad of psychological books and give reports on them. Now, the book reports will act in place of some of my research assessments and will be quite detailed. However, I will be posting book reviews on my blog, which will be a abridged version. Both will be available on this website, so you should most definitely check in for them!

SPOILER: Here's a tidbit of information to keep you interested. My first book review and report will be on the 1964 bestseller Games People Play: The Psychology of Human Relationships by Eric Berne, MD.
