Weekly Post 16: Mentorship Part 2

My mentorship with Dr. Dunn will be starting soon and is in the works. I am currently filling out forms that are necassary for me to fill out so that I can conduct my mentorship at the State Hospital my mentor works at. I am very excited to start shadowing Dr. Dunn at the hospital because my health science class does not provide us with the opportunity to rotate through a psychiatry floor. The plan is to shadow him for an entire day during the weekends every other week. I believe this will be a great opportunity to observe the career field and it will allow me to ask questions easily. For example, simply sitting down and discussing with my mentor wouldn't be as beneficial because I wouldn't be able to come up with many questions because of the lack of personal experience. If I actually experienced and observed the field, I would be able to ask meaningful question based on things I saw and heard that I didn't understand. Hopefully, I will start my mentorship soon and be able to write about it!
