Ambulance Ride

This is what the inside of an ambulance looks like. Inside, its basically a hospital room on wheels. It has oxygen sources, IV bags with saline, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, defibrillators, and even pillows. The stretcher is situated in the middle and has backpacks that are filled to the brim with any medical supplies that may be needed in the field on top of it.

Helicopter Services

The Medical Center of Plano had great Emergency Medicine Services. They are a Level II Trauma Center with a new Burn and Reconstructive Center. The hospital is also a Level I Stroke Center. As students, we constantly heard and saw the helicopter coming in with patients. Some students in the ER on certain days even got to head out to the helipad and help ER personnel unload individuals!

Doorway to the ER

On our last day at this hospital, my health science class walked through these doors for our last rotation. My last day was on the Orthopedic Trauma floor, where I had a great final rotation.

Auxiliary Court 5

The entrance to the area where the District Court the trial was being held in was located. There were numerous lawyers constantly going in and out as well as defendants seated outside of courtrooms. Security is usually pretty tight so be prepared to go through a security check before entering the building.

Patient Monitor

Patient Monitors are used to monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, SpO2 levels, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature. Usually on wheels to make them mobile.
